Three things to know about the 2022 Toyota Tundra

The all new 2022 Toyota Tundra has been unveiled after months of speculation and anticipation. The all-new Tundra features a bold design that is sure to get it noticed on the road and consumers have already taken a liking to Toyota's latest full-size truck. With more power and better capability along with an improved list of standard and optional features plus multiple TRD packages, the redesigned Toyota Tundra is everything buyers want out of their truck and more.  Here is everything you want to know about the all-new Tundra.

It has impressive power

The new 2022 Toyota Tundra is powered out of the gate by a 3.5 L twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers a remarkable 389 horsepower combined with 479 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic and features better efficiency than the outgoing V8 without sacrificing power or capability.  That said, if you want even more power, this engine can be paired with a unique i-FORCE MAX system that adds a motor generator with a clutch located within the bell housing separating the 10-speed gearbox and engine. This system can add extra power as needed, pushing total output to a staggering 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque.

In other words, the 2022 Toyota Tundra certainly delivers the goods when it comes to power with the most powerful standard engine in its class, and one of the most powerful powertrains available as an option.

Towing is rated at 12,000 pounds while payload is set at a maximum of 1,940 pounds.

It is more luxurious inside

The 2022 Toyota Tundra comes with a range of new Advanced features including available heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, rear sunshade, panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and a new multimedia system. The latter is housed in either a standard 8-inch touchscreen, or an available 14-inch touchscreen which is the largest in the segment.

Like all Toyota products, Toyota Safety Sense active safety technologies are standard and include Toyota’s latest safety tech, the new Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. This system can prevent collisions with pedestrians as well as bicyclists at intersections, among other features.

Toyota Connected Services will also be included, giving owners complete control over their truck remotely through the use of a mobile app as well as assistance in case of emergency and other features.

It has a wide range of versions

The 2022 Toyota Tundra comes in multiple versions starting with two cab options, double cab and CrewMax. There are three bed length options, 5.5 feet, 6.5 feet and 8.1 feet, and five versions in total: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, and 1974. Moreover, there are numerous TRD Pro packages including TRD Off-Road and TRD Sport.
