Although cars have become less popular in recent years, one category remains popular because of the quality/price ratio it offers. The two models featured today, the 2022 Toyota Corolla and the 2022 Kia Forte, are both in the compact class.
Which one is the most interesting? Not surprisingly, it's the Toyota Corolla. But just to show you how interesting, the Kia Forte is still a great creation. It's just that Toyota offers more in every way, proving that they're always looking for the little things that make their products irresistible.
Variety
On both sides, there are sedans and 5-door models. However, Toyota's lineup is more complete, with more classic L models and sportier S models.
What's more, if fuel economy is one of your priorities, Toyota offers a hybrid variant that's not on the menu at Kia. The latter literally melts fuel consumption. Instead of having to settle for an average of around 7 L/100 km, the Corolla Hybrid offers a rating of 4.5 L/100 km.
No other car does better in this category.
Resale value
We don't think much about resale value, but it can have an impact on the monthly payments you'll have to pay, but more importantly, on the price you'll be able to get when you resell your model.
Sometimes the difference between two vehicles is minimal, but here it's striking to say the least. Basically, the Corolla loses 20% of its initial value in the first three years. The Forte, 30%.
Reliability
Kia may have improved its reliability record over the years, but how can it, or any other company for that matter, compete with Toyota in this regard? Basically, buying a Corolla guarantees you one thing; the lowest maintenance costs of any model in the industry.
That's a great argument to add to the others.
Come discover the Corolla and join all those who have made it their choice since 1966.
