Late summer job sites, loaded trailers, and long highway hauls all put different demands on a pickup. The 2026 Toyota Tundra spans eight distinct cab and bed builds, from a lean two-wheel-drive work truck to a four-door hybrid crew cab, and the right one depends on how you actually load and drive it.
Picking between a Double Cab and a CrewMax, or a Regular Bed and a Long Bed, changes passenger room, box space, and how much trailer the truck can pull. Here is how the 2026 Tundra lineup breaks down for Ontario drivers weighing work, family, and towing needs.
The Double Cab lineup covers the Tundra’s most work-focused builds, running from a lighter two-wheel-drive Regular Bed to a four-wheel-drive SR5 L built for heavier trailers.

Most Double Cab configurations, including both 4X2 Regular Bed and Long Bed builds and the 4WD Double Cab SR, share a 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6 rated at 358 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Stepping up to the Double Cab SR5 L swaps in a higher-output tune.
The SR5 L makes 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, which lifts max towing from 8,289 lbs (3,760 kg) to 11,089 lbs (5,030 kg). That towing jump also comes with a longer box: the Double Cab SR carries a 1,982 mm cargo bed, while the SR5 L extends that to 2,469 mm.
Every CrewMax trim, Limited, Limited L, Platinum, and Capstone, runs the same i-FORCE MAX 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6 hybrid, producing 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic and standard 4WD. That torque advantage matters most when a loaded trailer is climbing a grade.
For frequent towing, the CrewMax Platinum and Capstone add Power Extendable/Folding Towing Mirrors, improving visibility around a wide trailer without an aftermarket swap. Platinum’s Advanced Package pairs those mirrors with load-levelling rear air suspension, which helps keep the truck sitting level under a hitched load.
Front-seat space stays consistent across the lineup. Every configuration offers 41 in. of headroom and 41.2 in. of legroom up front, so the driving position feels the same whether you pick a Double Cab or a CrewMax.
Where the cabs diverge is cargo. The Double Cab SR’s 1,982 mm box matches the CrewMax Limited L’s own 1,982 mm bed, while the Double Cab SR5 L stretches to 2,469 mm, the longest box in the lineup and useful for ladders, lumber, or a full load of home-improvement supplies. The CrewMax Limited’s shorter 1,677 mm box trades some of that length for rear-cabin space.
For families or crews riding in the back seat often, the CrewMax Capstone adds leather seating, heated and ventilated front seats, and a driver’s seat memory system, comfort features built around long-distance trips rather than jobsite duty.
Work-first buyers who need payload more than passenger room should look at the Double Cab SR 4X2 Regular Bed. Its 1,940 lbs (880 kg) payload is the highest in the lineup, and the 2WD setup keeps curb weight down for daily loads.
Buyers who tow often but do not need four full doors get the most value from the Double Cab SR5 L. Its 11,089 lbs (5,030 kg) towing rating and 479 lb-ft of torque outclass every other Double Cab build, and the 2,469 mm box still leaves room for gear.
Families and crews who split time between passengers and gear should look at the CrewMax lineup. The hybrid powertrain’s 583 lb-ft of torque handles a loaded trailer, and the Capstone’s comfort features suit longer trips with a full cabin.
The 2026 Toyota Tundra’s eight cab and bed combinations cover a wide range of jobs, from lean work trucks to hybrid family crew cabs, with payload, towing, and cargo space shifting depending on the build.
