The New Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid is about to arrive for the 2023 model year and it brings with it a new powertrain and a number of popular features.
The fifth-generation hybrid system
The new Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid adopts a new hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0L four-cylinder engine with three electric motors that give it a standard e-AWD system and a much-improved fuel efficiency. With 194 horsepower on tap, the hybrid version is the most powerful Corolla Cross yet and the fastest to reach 100 km/h from a stop, with a time of 8.2 seconds. Without surprise, this new model is also the most fuel-efficient version of the Corolla Cross to date, with an estimated fuel consumption figure of 6.4 L/100 km in combined city and highway driving.
The standard safety features
The new Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid is equipped with the latest version of the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of active safety systems and driver assistance features. This includes the forward collision alert with emergency braking, which is capable of detecting pedestrians and motorcycles. The lane tracing assist and lane departure warning systems are also standard and they have received improvements for 2023 which make them more refined. The dynamic cruise control system is also part of this suite and it helps keep a safe distance with the vehicle in front at all times.
The impressive practicality
Just like the regular Corolla Cross, the new Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid is a very practical vehicle due to its size that sits between the subcompact and compact SUV categories, which makes it able to carry more cargo than a subcompact model but also makes it easier to park around town than a larger compact SUV. Inside, the Corolla Cross Hybrid benefits from a large amount of space for passengers and cargo, which makes every passenger more comfortable and makes it possible to carry all of the luggage needed for a family roadtrip.
