The all-new 2023 Toyota GR Corolla introduced on April 1st is one of the most impressive, dynamic, sporty, and capable Toyota vehicles ever built. Fine-tuned by Akio Toyoda himself, the new GR Corolla takes the rally heritage of Toyota Gazoo Racing and infuses it into the Toyota Corolla hatchback. The end result is a striking hot hatch with impressive performance that will take on any winding road with confidence.
300 horsepower and all-wheel drive
The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla is powered by a 1.6 L three-cylinder direct-injected turbo engine delivering 300 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque between 3,000 and 5,500 rpm. With a net weight of just over 1,400 kilos, the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla packs a ton of performance in a lightweight package. The new GR Corolla comes exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox for the most direct and the purest driving experience possible.
The massive horsepower coming from the lightweight engine is sent to all four wheels through the Toyota rally GR Four all-wheel drive system. This impressive all-wheel drive technology gives the driver a high level of control over how the engines output is distributed to the wheels. Drivers can choose between a 60/40 split, a 50/50 split, or a 30/70 power distribution to the front and rear wheels.
Visually, the new 2023 Toyota GR Corolla features functional air intakes, an aggressive body kit and aerodynamic package, and an interior that is complete with racing seats and an impressive12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that features information on turbo pressure, gear position and also engine revs.
There will be two editions of the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla available in Canada, the Core Edition and the Circuit Edition. The Circuit Edition features Brim Naub suede and synthetic leather trim sports seats with red stitching as well as red mesh inserts. The Circuit Edition which is coming in 2023 also features a carbon fibre roof and special design elements like a larger spoiler. Aluminum sport pedals along with lighted footwells and a wireless charging station are also found in the new 2023 Toyota GR Corolla as is the latest suite of Toyota safety Sense 3.0 technology.
