The race to electrification continues on the automotive landscape and for 2023, Toyota is offering a more comprehensive electrified line-up in Canada than ever before. For 2023, Toyota is offering a total of 10 hybrid electric vehicles ranging in size from the compact Prius sedan to the full-size Sequoia and Tundra trucks, two plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), the BZ4X full-electric or battery electric vehicle (BEV) and the Mirai hydrogen fuel cell electric sedan. There truly is an electrified Toyota for everyone in 2023.
The benefits of a hybrid or electric vehicle are well known; fewer emissions, quiet operation and improved fuel economy (or no longer requiring fuel at all) are all very attractive reasons to move to an electrified vehicle – and let’s not forget the federal and provincial rebates offered to sweeten the deal even further.
Hybrid and electrified powertrains, however, do introduce a new set of components over traditional internal-combustion vehicles (ICE) – most notably, large batteries -- and with that technology comes the need for revised maintenance offerings as well. Toyota is answering the call by offering a comprehensive battery warranty with every hybrid vehicle they sell. Toyota’s hybrid battery warranty covers the battery in any hybrid vehicle for 10 years or 240,000 km – whichever comes first. Each Toyota warranty covers the first owner and every subsequent owner throughout the duration of the warranty period.
That’s added to the three year/60,000 km basic vehicle warranty, five year/100,000 km powertrain warranty as well as an eight year/160,000 hybrid component warranty. So, in addition to the battery being covered, a number of other hybrid system components are covered as well including the hybrid battery control module, hybrid control module and inverter with converter.
With the variety of hybrid Toyota vehicles on offer and the unparalleled warranty support that Toyota now provides, it’s as good a time as ever to pay us a visit and have one of our experts help you make the switch to electrification.
